Wallace Collection and ballet at the OPERA!!!
It is
chilling but I cannot be at home for any other minute. The Wallace Collection
is quite near my apartment and I haven’t been there yet.
I do love
to let myself get lost and London is one of the best places to do so. Trying to
get to the Wallace Collection I arrived to Marylebone neighbourhood. Maybe one
of my favourites in London. It is not as crowded of people as others but it is
full of shops (expensive ones) and places to drink and eat. Everything is done
with a wonderful taste. The shop’s windows, the Christmas lights, the houses…
If I were you, I will go there and let myself walk around without destination.
Finally I
arrived to the Wallace Collection. It is an old house where the Wallace family
shows its collection and an amazing house. I cannot imagine how it can be to
live in a place like that. The ground floor is full of old swords, guns, knives
and armours. It is so crowded that you cannot see them properly. The rest of
the house has pictures, and furniture. Just the house deserves a visit.
If you have
time to go to the basement there is a part where they show you how they have
restore the items. And there are some fake armours to try on. They are so
heavy!!
I had
tickets for the ballet at the opera and I still had to walk a while before
arriving. No one wanted to go with me and I decided to go by my own. And
honestly, it was amazing. The environment, the building, the people there, the
ballet. The building is astonishing, the dome, the windows to the restaurant…
but what impress me the most was the legs of the ballet dancers. My sit was far
far away from the stage, and I could differentiate the different muscles of the
dancers!!
The tickets
are quite affordable if you buy them in advance! Just have it in mind if you
are planning your trip to London!
