London: Markets
I’ve
realized that London is synonym of markets. There are so many markets. All of
them are nice and different. These is my selection of them:
Borough
market: It is a food market. Honestly, I didn’t have a good time there because
it smells food a lot. Anyway, I should admit it is nice and you can find there
a lot of spices, cheeses, street food and so on.
This market
is quite close to the London’s tower and the tower’s bridge. I didn’t have the
chance of enter the tower of London but it seems to be like the castles I
played when I was a child, If I had
could, I would have enter.
The Tower’s
bridge is as nice as you imagine. Nowadays, if a big ship wants to pass through
it has to ask for it in advance, so I don’t think is easy to see it open.
Spitefields
market: This market is placed in the neighbourhood where Jack the ripper
committed his murders. There are a lot of different stuff, you can find a
jacket, a picture or some jewellery. In addition, there are some trendy and
good restaurants.
Leadenhall
market: This market is amazing! It’s like live in Harry Potter!!! Uk is amazing
in terms of mixing antique and tradition with modernity. On weekend it is
closed, but anyway is good to visit it.
Covent
Garden (Jubilee Market, Mapple Market): Maybe my favourite one! It is a lively
place full of lovely shops and street artists.
There is a
toys shop that surely deserves a visit: Benjamin Pollock’s ToyShop It seems to be a fairy place. Lovely
shop for kids and adults.
Whittard
(Chealse 1886) Delicious tea, biscuits and coffee…
Godiva and
Hotel Chocolat. It doesn’t matter if you like chocolate or not. These two shops
sell a piece of paradise.
Candem: The only thing I can say is that I do love it! The street food, the shops, the environment... just amazing. Please go. There is a shop that deserves a visit just for being so weird: Cyberdog
