80.000 Steps - Part 2
Just to think of what I was about to do tired me. But the day wasn´t long enough to do all I had to do, and "thinking" wasn't in my to do list.
I had been in Notting Hill before. And it dissapointed me. And I was there again. Sometimes you have to give second chances to people and places, and so do I. Honestly, if you come to London just for a weekend and you don't have time to go to Portobello or Notting Hill, do not suffer. It is nice if you can but you are not loosing anything really special.
Portobello is a huge market and the 80% of the stuff that they sell is second handed. I'm not a fan of second handed things. Anyway, I realized I throw away a lot of things some people could sell... and some others could buy if I were living here.
Notting Hill and its colorfull houses gided me to Kensington. I don`t know how many hours I had been walking aroung without destination in Kensington. Each street was beautiful and deserved walk through.
Kew gardens were waiting for me and I hadn't had lunch. I took the metro to Kew garden station and look for a place to eat (something light).
Kew gardens aren`t free. And in the winter season (which starts with the change of the hour the last October`s weekend) it closes at 4 pm. During the summer season at 6 pm. There are a lot to see and there are no artificial light, so I strongly recommend to you going during the summer season. I almost got lost trying to find the exit while it was getting darker and darker. The entrance is 15 GBP, nothing cheap for a park, but if you are a plant lover is worth expending. I was there for more than 3 hours and I couldn`t visit more than a quarter of the park... so many things to see.
At 7 pm I was joinning to a Jack the Ripper tour. Absolutely dissapointed. I (and 60 more people) paid 10 pounds to a guy who was shouting during 1 hour and a half what he had read in wikipedia. It is true that the location didn`t help him to brought us to that time... the city and its skyscrapers don't match with 1888. Anyway, don't pay to anyone for what you can read online by yourself.
When I arrived to my place it was more than 10 pm... and Sunday were waiting for me.
