Christmas at London
Today
London woke up with snow. In 14 days will be Christmas. And you still don’t you
know what to do or where to go in London at Christmas?
Regent
St/Oxford St/ Piccadilly: Try to avoid this part of the city during the
weekends but a visit to these streets is needed. Please, don’t forget to go to
Hamleys the toy shop, even though you are not a child it is really cool.
The
Christmas’ light decoration at Regent St is smart and heavenly nice. There are
angels or Christmas’ spirit hanging, the shops have lights, Christmas trees and
are full of people buying their presents.
A
compulsory stop at Oxford St is John Lewis mall, not only because I like it, if
not because there you can find the Moz's (the monster) house!! Nice place for
kids.
Burlington
Arcade, the little shops are good tasted decorated, the place is nice and the
shops are cute, what else can you ask for?
Covent Garden: Really nice decorated and full of shops to buy presents. Don't forget to buy some chocolates at Hotel Chocolat.
Fortum
& Mason, this mall is amazing all over the year, at Christmas time… it is
breath-taking… Christmas trees all over the place, thousands of Christmas
decoration to buy, people buying Christmas presents and food to full their
tables.
Ice skating
at Somerset House. There are several ice skate places but maybe this is one of
the biggest, or at least my favourite one.
What I like
from Christmas in some countries in Europe, which we don’t have in Spain, is
the Mulled wine! It is hot red wine whit
some kind of sweet and spicy seasoning.
Winter
Wonderland at Hyde Park. I chose the wrong day for going. Even though
it was a Thursday and I just had to wait for 30 or 40 minutes at the queue
(reasonable), I didn’t have a really good time because it was bitingly cold. It
is a place for children and for going with friends, have fun and eat something.
But it was so cold that not even the Mulled wine helped you to get warm.
The Magical Lantern Festival at London: Honestly it’s only darkness,
lanterns and a park but the mix of the three things is nice. Quite overpriced
for my point of view, but just for once in your life it is ok.
